THANK YOU

Preparations are coming along....

The day is getting closer.....

I just wanted to write a public thank you to a few people who have really helped get Treavor (and ME) ready to go...especially this last couple of weeks.......physically.......financially.......and mentally.

First to my Mom.....

Treavor and my Mother have always had a special relationship....

He ADORES his grandma...and I mean he is truly in love with her.... 

he is always aware of where grandma is... and if she's ok....helping her......

always holding her hand....

he won't let her walk alone....EVER. 

I think she may miss him most of all....

(and a shout out to my Dad.....full of love...he has been Treavor's NORTH STAR for his entire life... Thank you for all of your grandpa lessons..... 

I couldn't ask for a better Grandpa for my son......thank you Dad)

Second...my sister Keri...

This is Treavor's second mom... She loves him like one of her own.

And I personally don't know what I would have done without her helping me down this [missionary mom] road....it truly helps having someone who has gone thru it before to help guide me. 

She is truly is my big sister...and i love her very much.  

{i am thankful to all my sisters for their love of treavor....IT TAKES A VILLAGE}

3rd...but certainly NOT last.....my sweet  mike russell.

Treavor looks up to him so much.... 

they have bonded over the years and have a good friendship full of FUN....R-E-S-P-E-C-T (i sang that)  

and FOOTBALL...[go patriots]....

Not to mention the police ride-a-long "man time"...

Treavor loves this so much. 

Russell has been such a good example for Treavor.... AND ME...he is constantly encouraging me....and helps keep me calm... patient....and sane...{i'm faking it}

Mike gave me the fortune from his fortune cookie the other day that said:

"THOSE WHO CAN ENDURE MOST....ARE REWARDED MOST"

He said..."i think this is yours"....... 

but really......I think its Treavors.

So many people have been part of Treavor's "school of fish"...and I truly don't believe Treavor would be where he is without the support and love from EACH FISH! So thank you to EVERY ONE for EVERY THING you have done and said and taught Treavor.

NAILED IT!

Treavor spoke in sacrament meeting on Sunday for the FIRST TIME!

It was a very chilly day!! Icicle overload at the church...

He was so nervous but he did great!

During the week... I gave him some ideas of things to talk about... He sat and wrote and wrote and wrote......then he let me read what he'd written.  

I have to tell you that I don't even know who this kid is anymore..... he just purely amazes me.  I suppose its because he's not a kid any longer....and his focus has changed.... therefore HE has changed.

I sat and stared at him sitting up there on the stage (he is so humongous) he was squished between the other speakers...and he just looked HUGE.....so grown up.....so massive.... and he just glows.

...and then I cried.... thinking he's leaving me.... and how much I'm gonna miss him... 

I'm gonna miss his hugs... he purely drowns me with his wonderful hugs...... 

and his laughter... best-laugh-ever....

I'm gonna miss feeding him.....I have never been able to keep Treavor's tummy full since he was born.

{MOM....MAKE ME FOOD!}

I'm gonna miss when he sings and thinks no one's listening... and his rage screams when he watches football..... and his sissy screams while he's killing zombies...

He has so much to give......and he will bring light to others lives just has he has brought light to mine. 

I couldn't get Charlee to open her eyes....  :) OPEN YOUR EYES CHUCK!

Temple day....

Treavor went to the temple for the first time yesterday....
(got some beautiful pics of the temple last night)

This day was huge for him and full of emotion for me....

It's so hard to believe this is his time.....

I am so proud of him....

....so sad.... this is the only picture I got with him in it! What was I thinking?? It was a crazy wonderful day and SO cold!

Thank you to my dear family who braved the wintery tundra to share this day with him....

THE MOM LETTER......

Got the "mom" letter from President Hall today...

(Treavor's mission president)

Phew........ Whew......... deep breaths...  ok....    just read it........... 

The letter was written specifically to me...and I felt peaceful reading it. They really DO know what they are doing. I can tell its like a fine tuned machine. All the questions are answered... even ones I hadn't even thought of yet. And I could feel the love they had for Treavor and our family before they had even met him. 

He added this scripture and then..... I cried.....

"And they were all young men, and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all-- they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted"

Alma 53:20

How lucky am I to have a son that WANTS to serve a mission...

Treavor was ordained an Elder yesterday....

He was given a beautiful blessing and ordained by his 

Grandpa Walker...

It was so neat to see all those men who love Treavor.... standing in a circle..... supporting him......  enveloping him....

The High Counselman told Treavor... "From here on out...its about service to others".....

I loved that.....

 

Treavor was BEAMING...he is so excited.

(afterwards he said...."Mom....its real now...I'm really an Elder!")

 We all have great memories of this trip.... How fun that he gets to go back and LIVE there for the next 2 years!

The interesting thing is at this point....I don't think Treavor had decided to serve a mission yet...and I don't believe Zac had either..... funny how things work out eh? That FIRST ELDER SHOE really set the ball in motion.....   :)

 It just brings tears to my eyes.... how lucky my family is... to have good kids... that love each other.... and they are examples to each other....they help lift and carry one another.... encourage each other to be better.  Gahhhhh....... just WOW.

On another note... Treavor had his appointment with the Stake Prez last night....should be finished up with all the "red tape" in about 2 weeks. This is really happening people!!!

This is Treavor's Uncle Mike......

he has been and {continues to be} an angel in our family.....

He has always had a special bond with me and my kids....

and we all look up to him so much. 

He is a great husband :), father, uncle and friend.

About 2 minutes after Treavor opened his mission call.... 

I got a text from Mike saying he wanted to take Treavor "missionary" shopping for some things and have a little "man time"......

OFFER ACCEPTED!

SO MANY THINGS MARKED OFF THE LIST!

Plus he took the kids to dinner.... they just adore him.

(Mike said he needed the blessings....hahaha...in return I gave him a FREE redbox rental card....valued at $1.20....you're welcome...I think that pretty much makes us even)

I love you Mike....I have no words to thank you enough.
